Run for veterans

Run for veterans: Monroe VFW Post 7511 plans a “Flags for our Fallen” 5K walk and run at 9:30 a.m. May 27 at Lake Tye Park. The cost is $19 and includes a T-shirt. Education film: The Edmonds School District is holding a free screening of “Beyond Measure,” a film about moving away from test-driven “fixes” for schools, 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Mountlake Terrace High School. More info: beyondmeasurefilm.com

Quilt show: The Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters holds its annual Comfort Quilt Show at 6:45 p.m. May 16 at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo.

New museum: Lynnwood’s Northwest Veterans Museum had its grand opening last weekend. The museum’s hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The location is Heritage Park at the corner of Poplar Way and Alderwood Mall Parkway. Admission is free, and donations are accepted.
