EVERETT — No suspect has been identified in an assault reported last week at the downtown Everett post office.
A 70-year-old man was attacked after a confrontation with a homeless woman, officer Aaron Snell said.
The incident was reported about 7 p.m. May 4.
The man said he was approached by the woman and asked for money on his way inside to mail a package. He told her she needed to get a job, and she cursed at him, Snell said.
When the man came outside, he was punched in the back of the head by another man who appeared to be with the woman. He hit his face as he fell, Snell said. A witness came to his aid, and he was taken to the hospital.
The man who threw the punch is described as white and in his 20s or 30s. He was of average build and height and had brown hair, Snell said. He wore an orange shirt. The investigation was ongoing Thursday. No surveillance cameras captured the assault, Snell said.
