Soroptimist International of Everett on April 26 held its 2017 awards luncheon.

The group awarded scholarships to Rayna LaFave-Clark and Karli DuBois, both of Cascade High School. LaFave-Clark plans to attend Pacific Lutheran University and study toward becoming an oncologist. DuBois will attend Western Washington University to become a secondary school teacher in biology and environmental science.

The Ruby Award went to Noni LaLone, recognizing her work in helping women and girls in her personal and professional life.

Kate Neumeister received the Violet Richardson Award, which honors a young woman who makes her community and the world a better place through community service activities.

The Live your Dream Award, which comes with funds for education, training or other needs to a woman who is working to improve her life, went this year to Michele Grunder. Grunder’s goal is to become a counselor to help other women overcome their past history of abuse.
