EVERETT — The city of Everett has closed two access roads to lower Howarth Park indefinitely after several landslides.
The upper portion of the park is still accessible from the west on Olympic Boulevard. The eastern approach is inaccessible.
The city has been studying the slide area, and won’t make a decision about reopening the park until it is complete. A recommendation from a geotechnical engineer is expected next week.
People still can access the waterfront at Edgewater Beach (1500 First St., Mukilteo) and Mukilteo Lighthouse Park (609 Front St., Mukilteo).
The closure also includes the off-leash area in the park. Other nearby off-leash areas are at Loganberry Lane Park (9201 18th Ave. W), Japanese Gulch (1301 W Mukilteo Blvd.) and Lowell Park (4605 S Third Ave.).
