Purse auction

Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County holds its annual handbag auction and luncheon to “Break the Silence, End the Violence,” 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 8 at the Xfinity Events Center in downtown Everett.

All proceeds from the silent and live auctions of new and gently used handbags go to the nonprofit’s services and programs.

Cost to attend is $30. Handbag donations for the event also are welcome, as are sponsors.

For more information, go to www.dvs-snoco.org or call 425-259- 2827, ext. 1013.

Party down: The annual end-of-school block party for teens at the South Everett Boys &Girls Club is set for June 16.

The free event is meant to be a safe and fun dance party for grades six through 12. Last year, 250 teens attended.

In addition to a DJ, there will be food, contests, prizes, table sports, and a video games room. Pepsi is a sponsor.

Doors open at 7 p.m. at the club, 525 W. Casino Road. The vent runs from 8 to 11 p.m.

Attendees must have school ID or other proof of age or grade, unless they are with club staff or a guardian.

“It is simply a safe place, positive people, prizes, dancing and fun. Teens can still let loose and have a good time and feel free to be kids on Casino Road,” said Jake Marsh, an event organizer.

RSVP to Marsh by June 9: jmarsh@bgcsc.org.
