More than 20 volunteers assisted search-and-rescue and fire personnel in transporting an injured hiker via litter from the Lime Kiln Trail to a logging road.

GRANITE FALLS — An injured hiker in his 50s was rescued Thursday evening near Granite Falls.

The man had been walking along the Lime Kiln Trail around 1 p.m. when he dislocated his ankle, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

More than 20 volunteers helped search and rescue as well as fire crews. It took about four hours to find the man and carry him out to a nearby logging road, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
