Man killed by car while crossing Bothell-Everett Highway

EVERETT — A 68-year-old man died after he was struck by a car on the north side of Silver Lake Monday.

He and a woman were crossing Bothell-Everett Highway near 19th Drive SE. Everett police officer Aaron Snell said they were in the crosswalk.

The collision happened around 7 p.m.

“It appears the driver didn’t see the pedestrians,” Snell said.

The man who was hit was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. The woman was expected to survive.

A stretch of the highway was closed for hours. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with detectives, Snell said. No arrests have been made while the investigation continues.
