AquaSox polish off the Emeralds 3-1

EVERETT — Manny Pazos hit a two-run triple in the third inning, leading the Everett AquaSox to a 3-1 victory over the Eugene Emeralds in Northwest League baseball action Sunday.
The triple by Pazos, part of a three-run inning, gave the AquaSox a 2-0 lead. Greifer Andrade added an RBI single later in the inning.
Eugene answered in the next half-inning when Brandon Hughes got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Gustavo Polanco to cut the deficit to two.
Eugene missed an additional scoring opportunity in the fourth, when Chris Singleton hit into a forceout with the bases loaded to end the inning.
Jose Santiago (3-5) got the win in relief for Everett and Eugene starter Rollie Lacy (0-1) took the loss.
Everett’s David Ellingson pitched two scoreless innings for his fourth save of the season.
Despite the loss, Eugene is 5-2 against Everett this season.
