Possible bobcat sighting keeps Snohomish students inside

SNOHOMISH — Students were kept inside at Valley View Middle School after a staff member spotted “a bobcat-like animal” on campus around noon Thursday.

“It was heading back into the woods at the time of sighting,” said Kristin Foley, a spokeswoman for the Snohomish School District. “Authorities have been contacted, and the school was put on a modified lockdown.”

Valley View off of Broadway Avenue is south of Snohomish and east of Highway 9.
