MILL CREEK — Police chased down a man who reportedly was seen walking out of a jewelry store that was supposed to be closed on Sunday morning.

An employee arrived at Mill Creek Jewelers off Bothell Everett Highway around 7:30 a.m. He passed a man in his late 40s walking out of the store and called police, city spokeswoman Joni Kirk said.

Officers found the suspect’s vehicle driving north on 35th Avenue SE and followed. He crashed his car into a fence near Gorin Drive in Everett and ran, Kirk said. Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies chased after him. They arrested the suspect near 91st Street SE.

The suspect’s car was registered in Seattle, Kirk said.
