Pancakes, Norway style
A Norwegian Pancake Breakfast will be served 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 2111 117th Ave. NE. Cost is $6; children younger than 4 are free.
Proceeds will help send two Snohomish and two Lake Stevens teens to a national youth gathering for Lutherans.

Mill Creek offers Citizens Academy
The Mill Creek Police Department starting March 21 will host a Police Citizens Academy, a 10-week program. Each week will focus on a topic such as SWAT, K9, patrol and investigations, and officers will share insights into their work.
Classes will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at City Hall North, 15720 Main St. The program is free.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and pass a basic background check. Class size is limited, so early registration is encouraged. More information and applications are at www.cityofmillcreek.com/PoliceCitizensAcademy.

Grown-ups can create funky figures
A two-part craft program for grown-ups is set for 2 to 4 p.m. March 1 and March 8 at the Evergreen Branch Library, 9512 Evergreen Way, Everett. Create “Funky Figures” using plastic bottles, wire, papier-mache and more. Space is limited; registration is required.
Children ages 12 and older may accompany a participating adult.

Luncheon features sari traditions
The American Association of University Women Edmonds SnoKing Branch plans its spring luncheon and fundraiser for noon to 3 p.m. March 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood.
Speaker Suman Jaiprakash will share “Traditions of the Sari.” There also will be a basket raffle and used book sale.
Tickets are $30. Register by March 2.

Volunteer at a hospital gift shop
Gift shops at local hospitals raise money for local causes and rely on volunteers.
The gift shop at EvergreenHealth Monroe needs volunteers to work three-hour shifts. The gift shop is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays.

The nonprofit Providence General Children’s Association needs volunteers at the Providence Regional Medical Center Pacific and Colby campus gift shops for four-hour shifts, day or evening, two or more times per month. Gift shop proceeds benefit Northwest children in need. Must complete hospital volunteer forms, TB test, background check and training.
