Learn about the microgrid

Snohomish County PUD plans an open house on its Arlington Microgrid Project, 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Arlington Airport office, 18204 59th Drive NE, Suite A.

In an emergency, the microgrid would disconnect from the main grid and help power the PUD’s new local office in Arlington. The project will include a solar array, a lithium-ion battery storage system and several vehicle-to-grid charging stations.

Design is under way for the $9.5 million project, with construction expected in 2019.
