Don’t forget to spring ahead

The shift from standard to daylight saving time officially comes at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Along with changing the clocks, it’s a good time to consider installing fresh batteries in smoke detectors. Local safety groups also encourage families to review fire safety and escape plans.

Standard time returns Nov. 4.
