Sensory Play Day in Arlington

The Arlington Library holds a day of story-themed sensory bins and hands-on fun that encourages early learning, 10:30 a.m. Monday. For ages 18 months to 5 years. Caregiver required. The library is at 135 N Washington Ave.

How did we get here?

The University of Washington’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers a free lecture, “The Long Haul: Stories of Human Migration,” at noon Tuesday at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. Scholar David Fenner will explore the push-and-pull factors that, in turn, help us better understand current headlines and the mosaic of peoples who have settled in the Pacific Northwest.

Eagles host bazaar

The nonprofit Everett Eagles Club holds a spring bazaar, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 1216 Broadway. There will be a variety of vendors. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Solve a history mystery in Everett

Join Northwest Room staff and local history enthusiasts at the Everett Public Library at 6 p.m. Tuesday for an evening of “Hands on History: History Mystery.” Attendees will have the opportunity to work with scrapbooks and photo albums from the archives to identify places, people and events.

You don’t need to be an Everett history buff to help. Spot clues like the model of a car, a style of dress, or an old road sign. The library is at 2702 Hoyt Ave.

Learn CPR

The American Red Cross and Premera Blue Cross will offer free CPR courses April 12 at Edmonds Community College. Four sessions will be held, starting at 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., along with a Spanish-language session at 6:30 p.m. All participants go home with a free first aid kit. Registration is encouraged.

The Floretum Garden Club of Edmonds offers a $1,500 scholarship to a high school graduate, community college student, or someone planning a career in a horticultural field. Financial need is a factor. The deadline to apply is May 7.

Edmonds schools look at time

The Edmonds School District seeks input from families about when to have “non-student” time, days when regular classes are not held for full or half days so staff can focus on training. A survey is available online to help gather feedback. Responses are due by April 13.
