Family escapes fire at Lynnwood home

LYNNWOOD — A family escaped a fire that severely damaged their home Monday afternoon in Lynnwood.

The family was home but nobody was injured, said Leslie Hynes, a spokeswoman for South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue.

Both floors of the two-story house caught fire.

The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. in the 1700 block of 198th Street SW, Hynes said.

It was under control as of 5:30, she said. There was an investigator on the scene at that time.
