Mariners recall Miranda, option Motter to Class AAA Tacoma

SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners recalled left-handed pitcher Ariel Miranda from Class AAA Tacoma on Tuesday.
Miranda was scheduled to start Tuesday night’s game against the Houston Astros at Safeco Field.
To make room for Miranda on the 25-man roster, the Mariners optioned utilityman Taylor Motter to Tacoma.
Miranda, 29, made one start with Class A Modesto on April 6, allowing five runs (one earned) in five innings. He also made one start with Tacoma (April 11), throwing four innings and allowing three runs.
In 2017, Miranda was 8-7 with a 5.12 ERA in 31 games with the Mariners, including 29 starts.
Motter, 28, hit .267 with one home run and one RBI in seven games with Seattle after being recalled from Tacoma on April 3.
