Truck is stolen, then found burning in south Everett

EVERETT — A stolen truck was burned in an apparent arson early Thursday in south Everett.

The 1997 Dodge Dakota was reported stolen around 11 p.m. in the 16700 block of 13th Avenue W, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said.

Firefighters were called around 1:30 a.m. to the 11500 block of Second Avenue SE, less than 2 miles from the crime scene, because the truck was on fire.

Fire crews extinguished the flames in the street. The burned vehicle was impounded as evidence, Snell said.

Police consider the fire to be suspicious. No suspects have been identified.
