Ride your bike to market

Everett nonprofit Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop offers bicycle valet service this month at the Everett Farmers Market, held at Boxcar Park on the waterfront. A secure bike corral will be available this Sunday and each following Sunday through July.

The free service is rain or shine, but uncovered. Funded by BIKES Club of Snohomish County. Volunteers are welcome.

Archaeology for kids

School-age children can be “Digging Detectives” at 2 p.m. July 11 at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. Learn how to excavate artifacts and put them together to discover how people lived in the past.

Record a drumming remix

Teens and tweens can engage in some bucket drumming with Ian Dobson, 3:30 to 5 p.m. July 12 at the Stillaguamish Conference Room in Haller Park, 1100 West Ave., Arlington. You’ll get to digitally record and remix your own song to share, too. A program from the Arlington Library.

A taste of show biz

Show Biz Kids 4-H Club meets next 6:30 to 8 p.m. second Tuesdays at the Horseshoe Grange, 16424 Broadway Ave., Snohomish. Students in kindergarten through high school explore the performing arts.

Project Linus event

Project Linus makes quilts and blankets to donate to Snohomish County kids who have experienced traumatic events. The next event is set for 12:30-2:30 p.m. July 10 (second Tuesday) at the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett, 3025 Lombard Ave. Materials are provided. Bring a sewing machine if you have one.

Blood drives

The Red Cross plans a pair of blood drives in the area this month.

Everett: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 12 at Providence Mill Creek Clinic, 12800 Bothell-Everett Highway

Snohomish: 2 to 7 p.m. July 13 at First Presbyterian Church of Snohomish, 1306 Lake View Ave.

Rock out for flag

The Stanwood Camano Flag Fest features the Chris Eger Band, Geoffrey Castle and Nick Vigarino in concert, 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Kayak Point Golf Course, 15711 Marine Drive, Stanwood. Proceeds will go toward adding a 40-foot U.S. flag and pole to a smokestack in Stanwood. Tickets are $25; children younger than 12 free. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.
