Sale for chemo caps

A garage sale benefit is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, 330 Union Ave., Snohomish. Proceeds go toward chemotherapy cap supplies.

Beers for a cure

Arlington Brew Fest kicks off at 4 p.m. Saturday at Legion Memorial Park, 114 N Olympic Ave. Last call will be at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $10 to $30. Proceeds go toward Usher syndrome research at the University of Oregon via the Vision for a Cure nonprofit.

Snack Shack is open

The Edmonds Senior Center volunteer-operated Snack Shack is now open 11 a.m to 4 p.m. weekdays at the Edmonds Beach, offering ice cream, chips, nuts, trail mix, pop, water and beach toys. All profits support senior center programs. Volunteers are welcome.

Kornstock benefits food bank

Kornstock, a music festival benefiting the Arlington Food Bank, is set for 5 to 10 p.m. July 27 and 1 to 10 p.m. July 28 at Legion Memorial Park, 114 N Olympic Ave. Attendees are encouraged to bring cash donations or nonperishable food.

Performers include The Folsoms, Wild Orchids Belly Dancing, Crooked Mile, Harvey Creek Band, The Pack String and Wild Turkeys.

Stuff the Bus

The Everett Public Schools Foundation is organizing its annual Stuff the Bus For Kids school supply drive. Volunteers are needed to help collect supplies Aug. 17 to 19 and to help stuff backpacks Aug. 20 to 22.

Donations also are needed to help buy backpacks.

The goal is to fill 1,800 backpacks for Everett school kids who lack funds to purchase classroom supplies.

Join the CERT team

The city of Marysville and the Marysville Fire District offer another round of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. eight consecutive Tuesdays, Sept. 11 through Oct. 30, at Fire Station 62, 10701 Shoultes Road.

CERT provides education and training in basic response. Participants must live or work in Marysville, among other requirements. Classes tend to fill quickly. An online application and more information is at www.marysvillewa.gov/758/CERT.

Attend family yoga

Yoga Calm is offered at 10:30 a.m. July 27 at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St. This is an inclusive class aimed at families, with all abilities welcome. Registration is required.
