2 teens identified after fatal Darrington crash

DARRINGTON — Two teenagers died of blunt-force injuries in a crash this week in Darrington.

Devon T. F. Brearty, of Elma, was driving a vehicle that crashed into parked construction equipment on the Mountain Loop Highway at Clear Creek Road. It happened around 3 p.m. Monday.

Brearty died at the scene. He was 19.

The passenger, Dylan M. Brown, of Darrington, also died at the scene. He was 17.

Brown was a student in the Darrington School District.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, our students and our community,” the school district posted on Facebook.

The names were released Tuesday by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
