Thunderbirds rally for overtime win over Silvertips

EVERETT — Andre Kukuca scored an overtime goal to give the Seattle Thunderbirds a 5-4 win over the Everett Silvertips on Saturday in a Delta Hotels Preseason Classic contest at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Seattle scored three straight goals in the third period to take a 4-3 lead, but Everett’s Jake Christensen scored with 1 minute, 16 seconds lef in regulation to the the game at 4-4.

Sean Richards scored for the Silvertips in the first period, and Luke Ormsby and Christensen added goals for Everett in the second period.

Blake Lyda made 30 saves for the Silvertips.
