Trestle work postponed

A full closure of the westbound trestle that was scheduled for this weekend has been postponed because of the rainy forecast. The next scheduled closure is Sept. 14 to 17.

Full weekend closure of 116th ramp

People headed south from the Tulalip-Marysville area this weekend might need to budget extra time into their trips.

Contractor crews from Reece Construction are expected to close the 116th Street NE onramp to southbound I-5 from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday as part of the ongoing Tulalip Tribes interchange improvement project.

This work is weather-dependent, though not as much as the U.S. 2 trestle project.

A similar closure is expected Sept. 14 to 17 for the northbound I-5 offramp.

Flooding on Wetmore

Starting Monday, crews from Interwest Construction Inc. will begin installing a stormwater bypass system on 35th Street between Wetmore and Oakes avenues. The work is being done to fix flooding problems that have occurred over the years.

Buffet brunch on Camano

The Camano Island Yacht Club will serve brunch from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at 129 N Sunset Drive. Cost is $11, $5 for those younger than 10. Omelets are $1 extra. The menu includes blueberry pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, pastry and beverages.

Senior Center celebrates

Edmonds Senior Center will celebrate National Senior Center Month with free programs and events. The next gathering will include apple crisp with vanilla ice cream at noon Sept. 12.

Other upcoming events:

Moving sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 to 16, or pay $5 for Early Bird entry at 8 a.m. Sept. 14

Fall prevention fair, 11 a.m. Sept. 21, with tips on how to avoid falls and what to do if there is one

The Edmonds Senior Center is at 220 Railroad Ave. It will be in temporary quarters next year during construction of a new building.

The Everett Public Library will offer a free course that introduces the fundamentals of getting what you need from the Internet, noon to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 13.
