Motorcyclist dies in crash Friday morning near Snohomish

SNOHOMISH — A man died after crashing his motorcycle Friday morning just outside of Snohomish.

Witnesses said the Snohomish man, 48, was driving at a high speed before the collision, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

He was southbound on Springhetti Road, as was a car that had backed out of a driveway in the 12200 block. The motorcyclist hit the back end of the vehicle around 6 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

The man died at the scene.

The other vehicle’s driver was not hurt, and is cooperating with officials.

An investigation is under way.
