Pacific Crest Trail hiker, 70, tells wife he’s not missing

DARRINGTON — A Pacific Crest Trail hiker who was missing near Glacier Peak has been located.
The man, 70, had been checking in with his wife each day until he stopped Thursday, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
A search mission began Monday.
The man sent a message by a satellite beacon Tuesday, just before he was supposed to reach Stehekin at the north tip of Lake Chelan.
He said he was OK. The search was called off.
