MONROE — At least 10 businesses along U.S. 2 were broken into during one night.

People started calling 911 to report the damage just before 5 a.m. Friday. The shops were in strip malls between Old Owen Road and Highway 522.

Each of the stores had a broken window. Some owners said money was missing.

Surveillance footage shows a man with a covered face coming into one of the shops and trying to open the register.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with information is asked to call the Monroe Police Department at 360-794-6300, or the anonymous tip line at 360-863-4600.
