WSU quarterback named a finalist for the Walter Camp Award

Washington State quarterback Gardner Minshew II is one of five finalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced Wednesday.
Joining Minshew as finalists are quarterbacks Will Grier (West Virginia), Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) and Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama), and linebacker Josh Allen (Kentucky).
Minshew has thrown for an NCAA-best 4,477 yards this season. In addition to leading the nation in passing yards, the senior transfer ranks first in total offense per game (381.7 yards) and completions per game (36.0), and is fourth in the nation in touchdown passes (36).
The Walter Camp winner will be announced Dec. 6.
