Help fix children’s bikes at Everett shop

EVERETT — Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop is looking for volunteers to fix bicycles so children have a set of wheels.

The Everett nonprofit hosts weekly work parties to get children’s bikes ready to roll ahead of the winter holidays. Bikes are given to kids and families.

Volunteers don’t need bike mechanic skills or experience, just a willingness to get greasy fixing more than 50 bikes. Signing up doesn’t commit you to each work session, but doing three nets you shop credit worth $20.

Due to public health precautions for COVID-19, each event from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday through Dec. 10 (except Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26) is limited to five people and masks must be worn properly. Registration is required at https://bit.ly/36QR9Ll.
