Sign the petition to put Sheriff Fortney’s recall on the ballot

Every elected official and the community they serve should be concerned for the safety of 822,000 Snohomish County residents with Sheriff Adam Fortney in charge. Sheriff Fortney has defied the chain of command, selectively not enforcing laws, and encouraging the public to violate lawful orders to curb the spread of covid.

His decision to rehire three previously fired officers undermines community trust in law enforcement. Poor hiring decisions put citizens at risk. It is unsafe and expensive. $1 million of our tax dollarsto settle a suit for the unjustified slaying of an unarmed man and the officer gets rehired with back pay!

There is little doubt that when people learn about Fortney’s reckless actions, they sign the petition and want another look and a VOTE for their Sheriff (terms ends in 2023). Granting an extension to collect the 50,0000 signatures is essential when a million lives are at risk.
