AquaSox’s bats mostly quiet in 2nd straight loss to Hillsboro

EVERETT — Kaden Polcovich and Miguel Perez each hit a solo home run, but the Everett AquaSox’s offense managed just three other hits in a 7-2 loss to the Hillsboro Hops on Thursday night at Funko Field.
After Hillsboro scored twice in the first inning off Everett starter Emerson Hancock, Polcovich hit his fifth home run of the season in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 2-1.
The AquaSox tied the game on Perez’s one-out solo home run in the third inning. The homer was Perez’s first of the season.
But the Hops added two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and two more in the ninth to hand Everett its second straight loss.
Hancock allowed two runs on two hits in three innings for the AquaSox. He walked two and didn’t record a strikeout.
Austin Shenton hit his 12th double of the season for Everett (16-11).
Arizona Diamondbacks 2020 first-round pick Bryce Jarvis allowed two runs on four hits and stuck out 11 in seven innings to earn the win for Hillsboro (12-15).
