AquaSox down Emeralds in battle of High-A West’s best

EVERETT — Austin Shenton went 3-for-5 with three runs batted in and the Everett AquaSox beat the Eugene Emeralds 8-6 on Tuesday in a matchup of the top two teams in the High-A West standings so far this season.

Carter Bins homered and drove in two runs, and Julio Rodriguez returned from his stint with the Dominican Republic national team with a double and a run batted in for the AquaSox.

Juan Then started for Everett (18-12) and allowed three runs on four hits in five innings of work. Then struck out four and walked four. Jarod Bayless struck out two in a clean ninth inning to earn the save.

Simon Whiteman homered and Javeyan Williams drove in two runs for Eugene (19-12).
