Newly promoted Marlowe helps AquaSox beat Canadians

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Welcome to the AquaSox, Cade Marlowe.

In just his second game since being promoted from Low-A Modesto, the 2019 20th-round pick went 2-for-5 with a triple and three runs batted in to help lead Everett to a 12-4 win over the Vancouver Canadians on Saturday night at Ron Tonkin Field.

Connor Hoover went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, and Zach DeLoach went 4-for-5 with two doubles for the potent AquaSox offense.

Right-hander Emerson Hancock, the Seattle Mariners’ first-round pick in 2020, started on the mound for the AquaSox and allowed only one earned run on three hits in five innings. Hancock struck out eight, walked one and lowered his ERA to 2.14 on the season. Dayeison Arias struck out the side in the eighth for Everett.

Cameron Eden went 3-for-4 and Spencer Horwitz drove in two runs for Vancouver.
