AquaSox fall to Canadians

EVERETT — The Everett AquaSox fell into an early hole on their way to a 7-4 loss against the visiting Vancouver Canadians on Sunday at Funko Field.
Phillip Clarke sparked a three-run second inning for Vancouver (51-57) with a solo home run and Eric Rivera added two more runs on a bases-loaded single. Clarke pushed the lead to 4-0 with a run-scoring single in the third and Andres Guerra’s solo shot in the fourth made it 5-0.
The Canadians added a run in the sixth on Justin Ammons’ RBI single and another on a wild pitch in the seventh.
Dariel Gomez drove in three of Everett’s four runs, including solo homers in the seventh and ninth.
Paxton Schultz (5-5) picked up the win for Vancouver. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, surrendering four hits, two runs and one walk with five strikeouts.
Everett (60-48) right-hander Stephen Kolek (3-3) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks over three innings in the losing effort.
