EVERETT — Three Everett Silvertips are on the early radar for the 2022 NHL draft.

NHL Central Scouting released it’s preliminary players-to-watch list for the 2022 NHL draft Tuesday, and a trio of Tips were among the 45 WHL players mentioned.

A pair of 17-year-old forwards were listed as “C” prospects, which projects them to the late rounds of the draft. Ben Hemmerling, a winger from Sherwood Park, Alberta, is currently tied for second on the team in scoring with five points (two goals, three assists) in four games. Center Austin Roest, who hails from Coldstream, B.C., has one goal in four games. Both were selected in the third round of the 2019 WHL draft.

Also listed as a “C” prospect was 18-year-goaltender Braden Holt. Holt, who’s from Bozeman, Montana, was eligible for the past draft and went unselected, but then was invited to rookie camp with the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs. In two games this season he’s 2-0-0-0 with a 1.96 goals against average and .925 save percentage.
