7th-inning outburst lifts AquaSox over Indians

EVERETT — The Everett AquaSox exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and earned a 9-1 win over the Spokane Indians on Thursday to snap a three-game losing streak.

Leading 2-1, Spencer Packard hit a sacrifice fly to get the scoring started in the key seventh inning. Tyler Kennan followed with a three-run home run to open the floodgates. Victor Labrada added an RBI single before Noelvi Marte capped the outburst with a two-run double as Everett took a 9-1 lead.

Marte started the scoring in the game with a leadoff home run for the AquaSox in the bottom of the first inning. The prized Seattle Mariners prospect finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Bryce Miller started on the mound for Everett (6-11) and turned in a terrific performance. Miller allowed just one run on two hits while striking out nine in five strong innings. Mike Mokma and Kyle Hill combined for four shutout innings in relief on just two hits as Spokane (9-9) was held to just four total hits by AquaSox pitching.
