Highway 9 to close this weekend in south Lake Stevens

LAKE STEVENS — Travelers will need to find a different route through south Lake Stevens this weekend as Highway 9 is set for a full closure.

Crews are building a roundabout at South Lake Stevens Road and replacing a culvert under it for Centennial Creek. The highway will be closed between 20th Street SE and 32nd Street SE, from 11 p.m. Friday through 4 a.m. Monday.

South Lake Stevens Road west of the highway already closed for the rest of the project. The detour is on 91st Avenue SE and 32nd Street SE.

A detour for southbound traffic takes drivers onto 20th Street SE, south on Cavalero Road, to 91st Avenue SE, and onto 32nd Street SE back to Highway 9.

Northbound traffic’s detour goes east on 32nd Street SE and north on 103rd Avenue SE to 20th Street SE. From there, drivers can turn west on 20th Street SE to reach Highway 9.
