EVERETT — Everett police continued their search for a missing kayaker on Wednesday.

Searchers began using an underwater drone Tuesday night to search the area, said Everett police spokesperson Natalie Given. Police have narrowed the search area since the incident was first reported, Given said.

Sudden storms on Sunday led to several rescues on the water. Numerous agencies responded to the initial call, which was between Edgewater Park and Mukilteo. Five people were rescued, according to a Facebook post from the Everett Fire Department.

During the rescue of several paddleboarders, authorities learned of the missing kayaker who was not connected to their group. A search for the kayaker, an adult man, began shortly after.
