MERCER ISLAND — Terrace’s Taylor Williams struck first on an assist from Abby Mattens, but the Islander scored twice in the final 15 minutes to win the season opener for both teams. Hawks goalkeeper Jordyn Stokes finished with 11 saves.

Ballard 5, Edmonds-Woodway 3

EDMONDS — Despite Audrey Rothmeir’s goal and assist, the Warriors dropped their season opener. Abby Peterson and Harper Funston also scored for Edmonds-Woodway.
