Prep girls basketball: Lynnwood 34, Everett 33

LYNNWOOD — The Lynnwood girls basketball team hung on for a 34-33 win over Everett to solidify its place in the top third of the Wesco 3A. Up 11 at the close of the third quarter, the Royals had to fight off a charging Everett team.

“It was a defensive battle for both teams,” said Lynnwood head coach Everett Edwards. “Everett came back, got some momentum. We went for some different half-court defenses.

Grace Douglas paced the Royals with 12 points.

Calea Carr scored 11 for the Seagulls and connected three times from 3-point range.
