The Herald will publish its annual Ways to Give list Nov. 21 so readers know about charitable groups that need help.

Send the name of your organization; services you provide; hours and address; a phone number to be published and one for confirmation; and what items, services or volunteer help you need.

Watch film on blindness: A screening of a documentary film about blindness is planned in Everett.

“Going Blind” inspires and encourages people to take steps to cherish and prolong their sight. The screening is planned at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Snohomish County PUD, 2320 California St., Everett.

The screening is hosted by the Seattle-based Community Services for the Blind and Partially Sighted.

Tickets are $9.50 with preregistration, $15 at the door. All proceeds benefit the organization. To register, call 800-838-3006.

Preservation plan: The Everett Historical Commission plans a public hearing on the Downtown Everett Historic Preservation Plan at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, on the eighth floor of the Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave., Everett.

Join Sultan City Council: The City Council seeks to replace Councilman Ron Wiediger after his resignation Oct. 14.

Those interested in the job can fill out applications at City Hall, 319 Main St., or on the city’s website at www.ci.sultan.wa.us.

Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
