Seriously? Washington gets ‘First Blood’?

Today’s number of the day is 50 for no reason, other than we here at Midday Snacks HQ found two great items.

First, there’s the “50 Creepiest Baby Halloween Costumes,” including “Alien Bursting out of Chicken Baby,” “Roast Turkey Newborn” and “Taco Baby.”

Note: Some of them are actually creepy, but others are just plain cute.

And what is it with babies being made into food? Then again: They are cute enough to eat.

Second, and perhaps more important, we have 50 movies for 50 states with “The United States of Movies.”

Washington’s assigned movie, regrettably, is “First Blood.” Really? Sylvester Stallone? Rambo?

Come on: What about “Singles” or even “Sleepless in Seattle” or “Twilight” filmed locally?

Discuss.

Also a note on the apparent North Dakota-Minnesota snafu: We here at Midday Snacks know that of course Fargo is a North Dakota town.

However, one of our top Midday Snacks senior editors — having lived in both states plus South Dakota and the city of Fargo, which is just across the Red River from Old Minn — thinks Minnesota can have the movie anyway, thanks to the Minnesota accents so accurately portrayed in the classic Coen brothers film.

Also, correct us, if we’re wrong, it’s set in Minnesota.
