Last week, we asked readers to pin down a timeframe when they think Boeing’s 787 will make its first flight.

Roughly two-thirds of HeraldNet readers who responded to an online poll about the Dreamliner’s first flight have confidence that, as promised, Boeing will put the 787 in the air by the end of June.

Here are the results to our online reader poll:

  • 37 percent: June 15 to 30
  • 35 percent: July 1 or later
  • 16 percent: June 1 to 15
  • 12 percent: late May

The poll is now closed.

On Sunday, Boeing took another step toward that goal, moving the first Dreamliner out of the paint hangar and onto the flight line at Paine Field. Fuel-testing on the jet is planned to take place in the next few days.

The first 787 also will undergo additional power and systems tests, engine runs, final system checks, and high speed taxi tests before its first flight, Boeing said.
