LYNNWOOD — A bar on Highway 99 received some unexpected drive-thru business when a car crashed through its south wall at 6:05 p.m. Monday.
The car came to a stop alongside a pool table after destroying a TV and a Wi-Fi system, a boxing machine, some chairs, and a bench.
One Eyed Jack’s Roadhouse owner Tom McAlees said that he saw the driver backing up and then put on a burst of speed before crashing into the bar.
“I saw her driving erratically and when she started backing up fast I yelled ‘Look out!’ and then she hit the building,” McAlees said. “I’m lucky — I was planning on playing pool after my shift but I decided to go have a cigarette instead. Smoking actually saved my life today.”
According to Fire District One spokeswoman Leslie Hynes, no one inside the bar was injured. The driver was taken to Providence Everett Medical Center with minor injuries.
One Eyed Jack’s Roadhouse is scheduled to be inspected for structural stability.
