In concert: Emerald City Throwdown

Tonight’s show in Marysville Parks and Recreation’s Sounds of Summer Concert Series features Emerald City Throwdown.

The show is 7 tonight at Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Road.

The band plays tunes in the Motown, soul, rock and funk ­traditions.

Schedule switch for outdoor movies

Two scheduled movies as part of the city of Marysville’s Popcorn in the Parks series have been switched.

“Ratatouille,” originally scheduled for Sept. 6, is now planned to be shown at dusk Saturday at Parkside Way Park, 7729 64th Place NE. “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” originally scheduled for Saturday, is now set to be shown Sept. 6 at Jennings Nature Park.

Arlington

Utility project updates for sewer customers

Those who live in Arlington and pay sewer rates are encouraged to attend a meeting presented by the city, utilities manager James Kelley said.

The meeting is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Utilities Administration Building, 154 Cox Ave., across from the food bank in Arlington.

Topics include the comprehensive plan for the sewer system, the wastewater treatment plant upgrade and expansion, and food-waste recycling.

“It’s important for residents and ratepayers to have a voice in directing the course of their utility system,” Kelly said.

Kids’ Kloset plans fundraiser Aug. 23

Arlington Kids’ Kloset plans its annual Taste of Washington, set for 6 p.m. Aug. 23 at 20217 Old Burn Road, Arlington.

The evening features live jazz, a silent auction, a small live auction, and food and wines produced in Washington.

Money raised buys clothing, shoes, and back-to-school backpacks and supplies for children from low-income families in the Arlington, Lakewood and Darrington school districts.

Tickets are $30, or $50 for a couple, and may be purchased at Flowers by George or Arlington Pharmacy.
