Arlington
Street down to one lane
Only one lane of MacLeod Avenue, between Fifth and Division streets, will be open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and Wednesday.
Crews plans to install fiber optic cable. Traffic is scheduled to be controlled by a flagger.

Monroe
City completes new downtown master plan
The city’s new downtown master plan and design guidelines are now available on the city’s Web site at www.ci.monroe.wa.us under “Downtown Sub-Area Plan.” The plan is a blueprint for future downtown revitalization. Local residents, businesses and property owners collaborated with the city to create the plan.
The downtown along Main Street used to be a commercial hub in the Skykomish Valley.

Snohomish
Council passes resolution to support schools bond
The City Council passed a resolution last week to support the $261 million bond measure that the Snohomish School District plans to put on the May 20 ballot.
The council’s vote was unanimous.
The bond is to pay for multiple projects, including the renovation and modernization of Snohomish High School and replacing Hal Moe Pool with a modern aquatic center.

Bayside neighbors to talk with Kimberly-Clark
Robbert Waddle, the new environmental manager for Kimberly-Clark Corp.’s tissue mill in Everett, is the scheduled speaker Wednesday at the Bayside Neighborhood Association monthly meeting.
Waddle is expected to give an overview of the giant mill’s history, current operation and goals.
Neighbors are encouraged to share concerns about the mill, including noise and emissions.
The meeting is 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Everett Public Library’s downstairs auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave.

Marine boat patrols on park board agenda
A presentation on the Lake Stevens Police Department’s summertime marine boat patrols is planned for a meeting of the city’s park board tonight.

Marysville
Report graffiti to the city with online form
The Marysville Graffiti Task Force is now providing an online form for submitting reports of graffiti vandalism in the city.
The task force is a group of residents, businesspeople and officials fighting graffiti in the city. It’s hoped the online forms can speed removal of graffiti.
A law approved by the city last year allows the city to levy fines of $25 for anyone who does not clean graffiti from their property within four days.
The new online form also provides a way to submit photos.
