Search for new school superintendent begins
The Granite Falls School Board will begin the search for the new superintendent immediately.
The board has hired Wayne Robertson to assist with the search. Robertson is familiar with the Granite Falls community. He was the lead consultant when the district hired high school principal Eric Cahan two years ago.
The first step in the search will be a community forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Granite Falls Middle School commons, 205 N. Alder Ave.
The goal is to gather comments from parents, residents and business and civic leaders.
Robertson will lead the participants in discussion on the challenges in the district, the future direction of the schools and the most important characteristics the new superintendent will need to do the job. Staff members will meet with Robertson that afternoon.
The board hopes to announce its selection by mid-February.
