Walk: Enjoy ‘fern grotto’ on Camano
Join Friends of Camano Island Parks members on a guided community walk Jan. 2 at Camano Island State Park, 2269 Lowell Point Road. Meet at 9:50 a.m. at the picnic shelter near the boat ramp.
The 2.6-mile walk features excellent views of Saratoga Passage and Elger Bay and also a beautiful “fern grotto” and ravine. The walk is mostly level, with two elevation gains of about 50 feet. The walk should take about two hours. No dogs are allowed. Trail booklets are available for a suggested $1 donation. A parking pass is required, but those without can use a temporary one provided by the parks booster group.
