Watch for icy roads this morning

Some Snohomish County residents woke to snow flurries Sunday morning, but this morning’s challenge is more likely to be icy roads, said Johnny Burg, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Seattle.

“Any moisture left over on the roads will form ice spots, so things will be slick,” Burg said.

Most of the region received less than an inch of snow on Sunday, and flurries were expected to continue through Sunday night and into this morning, but there’s not likely to be enough for a snowball fight.

The high temperature Sunday was 34, and temperatures were expected to drip to about 27, Burg said. Today’s high is expected to hover just above 40.
