Some fall-out from last year’s Machinist union strike at Boeing — RyanAir is going to have to cancel about 1,200 flights over the next two months because of delays receiving planes, The Sunday Times of London reports. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2100-1963315,00.html

Key Quote: “A strike at aircraft manufacturers Boeing has delayed the delivery of four new 737-800 airliners and, with the old fleet of 737-200s taken out of service at the end of last month, Ryanair is unable to cope with the shortfall in capacity.”

The airline had already sold the -200s, expecting it would have received the -800s by now, The Times said.
