Students appealing policy the right way

I would like to applaud Everett High School seniors Claire Lueneburg and Sara Eccleston for their admirable efforts to stand up for their beliefs regarding student rights and the school paper, the Kodak.

They are a wonderful example of young people working within the system to create real change by appealing a policy that they believe violates their rights, as well as creating a protest piece to appeal directly to their peers.

As a past co-editor of the Kodak, I hope I would have done the same. No matter what the outcome, these seniors should be proud that they took a stand and I hope they will continue to do so in the future.
