Starlight beach walk

Learn about marine life in the intertidal zone during a free low-tide guided tour at Lighthouse Park on Tuesday night. The free event is scheduled from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. and open to all ages. The address is 609 Front St., Mukilteo. Parking is free for Mukilteo residents with a pass and $2 for everyone else.

WSU’s Beach Watchers program and the Snohomish County Marine Resource Committee organized the event. A similar walk is scheduled at Edmonds’ Olympic Beach Visitor Station, 200 Admiral Way, from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Feb. 7.

New library search tool: Sno-Isle Libraries has added a new search tool on its website labeled “Search All Databases.” It’s a more in-depth search than previously was available through the site. It provides an overview of information for the search term and lets users filter or order the list by type of resource, publication, location, language and more.

The EBSCO Discovery Service accesses a number of databases at once, including newspaper archives, auto repair manuals and business guides. It makes it so people can search efficiently just by knowing what they want to look for, not necessarily where to start looking, according to Sno-Isle. There also is a way to share or save search results.
